Rule 96
Procedure for carrying out maintenance of goods
(1) If any goods in a public body needs to be repaired, the user of such goods must give written information to the head of that body. After receiving such information, he should prepare and approve the cost estimate according to sub-rule (5) of rule 13.
(2) After the cost estimate is approved according to sub-rule (1), if the goods are repaired in its own workshop or repair center, the public body shall repair such goods from such workshop or repair center. If any goods, equipment or spare parts need to be replaced during such repairs, such goods, equipment or spare parts should be taken from the inventory and if they are not in stock, they should be purchased by following the procedure of the Act and this regulation.
(3) For the purchase of equipment or spare parts according to sub-rule (2), the public body shall register such goods or equipment and keep a record of the equipment or spare parts whose price per unit is more than five thousand rupees and that such spare parts have been replaced for old equipment or spare parts from the concerned technician. The old goods must be certified and registered.
(4) The public body which does not have its own workshop or repair center shall carry out the maintenance of goods by following the procedure of the Act and this regulation.
(5) Notwithstanding anything else written in this rule, an entity having its own workshop or repair center may approve the cost after repair by keeping a record in the repair work record form (Job Card).
